How do you do it?
It always seems that I have no money to spend on my poor AGgirls that have almost nothing?
Plus since all the money I get is from my allowance and that is NEVER anough!
thanks!

My mother is going to AGPC in October and I intend to send her off with a good chunk of money so I can have souveniers too. I am sure my mother would buy me some sort of treat anyway, but this way I get more treats.
Anyway, I am saving for this by setting aside 10% of my allowance every week until she leaves. This way I should still have enough money for whatever I want and still have plenty of money saved up.
Mentioning allowance just made me think about something my husband said to me last week. He heard me use the term "allowance" for the first time last week. He responded with "No, it is not an allowance. It is your individual share of our weekly income." I just looked back at him and said, "Okay, so it is an allowance." Just a funny moment I thought to share.

That is a tough question. Remmeber most of us here are adults who collect. I remember never having enough to get the things I wanted either.
here are a few things I would suggest:
1. Ask parents or neighbors if there is work you could do for them.
2. See if there are part time jobs you could get.
3. Babysitting....I hated doing that. However, it was a good source. Ag has a great kit to help you get started:

I did loads of extra weird jobs so I could earn extra cash.
good luck!

My daughter recently decided to sell another collection that she had and wouldn't be sad to part with in order to get something AG that she wanted.

Sell used household things on ebay (things you no longer use in your house). Baby clothes and plus size clothes usually sell well.

As a kid, I did not get an allowance because my family didn't have the money. I made money by doing odd jobs, babysitting (once I was old enough), and organizing yard sales of my old toys and family's junk a couple times a year. One big way I earned money is that my family had a ton of fruit trees- we had probably about 15 tangerine, orange, and grapefruit trees and it was really delicious fruit. I would periodically put a bunch of work in and pick all the ripe fruit, bag it, and sell it for way less than the grocery store from our front yard on weekends. My mom of course supervised the yard and fruit sales since there were lots of strangers stopping by. The fruit sales went over really well- there are weekends I made more than enough for an outfit or accessory. It was a lot of work, but I built my Kirsten collection as a child piece by piece this way. Also, I don't know if they're still in business, but when I was a kid a company called Olympia cards sold stationery, cards, stickers, etc. and as a kid you could take their catalog around, get orders, and you got a certain dollar amount per item. That worked great and I did it a few times a year when the new catalog came out. My mom was a secretary for a big school, so all the teachers would order.
Now, I mostly raise money selling stuff on ebay. I find stuff at yard sales or in lots on ebay, fix them up, and resell them. But I realize that's hard to do for anyone without their own credit card and ebay account. If you have lots of leftover toys you don't use anymore, you could ask your parents if they would sell them on ebay for you.
